Discover the world of clay with accomplished ceramics instructors! This class will allow you to learn the foundational techniques of handbuilding and basic wheel throwing with no experience required. Development of core building skills will have you creating functional pieces like cups, mugs, bowls, boxes, and vases in no time! During class, students will also be encouraged to explore the sculptural aspects of ceramics and taught principal finishing techniques for the variety of wares produced.

CLASS BONUS TIME
Class Bonus Time is additional time to work in the studio outside of class hours and it is available to students who are currently enrolled in ceramics classes and pyrography classes. Class Bonus Time is available for the weeks the class is scheduled as well as one week after the class ends to help wrap up any projects. There is no cost to utilize Class Bonus Time, but all participants must sign-in at the lobby.
CLASS MATERIALS
This class includes 25lbs of clay and the corresponding glaze and kiln services to be used during the designated class and Class Bonus Time. Students may purchase an additional 25lb of clay with corresponding glaze and kiln services at the non-member price. Additional clay must be used within the allotted time of the class.
YOUTH PARTICIPANTS
For students ages 14-17 participating in non-youth classes, parents/guardians must complete this waiver and send to Artisan.Center@nwtc.edu before the first day of class. The form may also be completed at the Artisan and Business Center if registering in person.
