Whether you are interested in a particular Raku firing method or can't commit to a full class, our new Raku workshops can give you the flexibility you need! This two session workshop will introduce you to saggar firing techniques. The workshop includes a two hour introduction to Raku and guidance on creating wares with Raku clay, two weeks of open studio time to create your pieces, and one four hour firing session!

Prerequisite: Ceramics Fundamentals

CLASS BONUS TIME Class Bonus Time is additional time to work in the studio outside of class hours and it is available to students who are currently enrolled in ceramics classes and pyrography classes. Class Bonus Time is available in between your two classes to help wrap up any projects. There is no cost to utilize Class Bonus Time, but all participants must sign-in at the lobby.

CLASS MATERIALS This class includes 8lbs of raku clay and the corresponding material and kiln services for each raku technique covered.

YOUTH PARTICIPANTS For students ages 14-17 participating in non-youth classes, parents/guardians must complete this waiver and send to Artisan.Center@nwtc.edu before the first day of class. The form may also be completed at the Artisan and Business Center if registering in person.
