Instructor: Salem Turchan

Delve into small-metal and jewelry fabrication under the guidance of a knowledgeable instructor! Students will learn foundational metalsmithing techniques with a focus on equipment safety, tool identification, and material knowledge. During class, students will learn how to saw, file, pierce, and solder as well as practice multiple construction and finishing approaches. Students will leave with a keychain, set of earrings, and a silver ring. Please bring a sketchbook or notebook to take notes. Open to all skill levels.

CLASS MATERIALS All necessary materials for this course are provided by the Artisan Center.

*Please note that due to a significant rise in silver prices, the cost of materials for this course has increased. We’ve adjusted the course fee and updated some projects and metal choices to help mitigate expenses for students while maintaining a strong hands-on learning experience.
