P101 Encaustic Painting

Instructor: Robin Samiljan

This exciting new class will introduce you to the historic process of painting with encaustic medium. A skilled instructor will guide you through setting up your workspace and selecting and handling materials safely. Students will explore a variety of materials that combine with wax medium, along with various application techniques. You will learn the basics of mixing wax paint, composition, and layering paint through demonstrations and guided instruction. Come ready to get your hands “waxy" and have fun with encaustic painting! All skill levels welcome.

YOUTH PARTICIPANTS For students ages 14-17 participating in non-youth classes, parents/guardians must complete this waiver and send to Artisan.Center@nwtc.edu before the first day of class. The form may also be completed at the Artisan and Business Center if registering in person.
