Techquity Digital Literacy: Online Confidence – Email, Search & Safety

Use the laptop you received through the Techquity program to communicate, find information, look for jobs, and complete everyday tasks online with more confidence.

In this beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop, participants will practice using a web browser, searching the internet, recognizing trustworthy information, sending and replying to email, working with attachments, and spotting common scams or suspicious messages. The workshop will also introduce safer habits for passwords, links, personal information, and public Wi-Fi.

No prior computer experience is required, and questions are encouraged.

Please bring the laptop and charger you received through the Techquity program. Participants should also bring any email login information they have and a phone that can receive verification codes, when available.

This workshop is open only to Techquity laptop recipients. Participants who complete the workshop will receive a digital badge recognizing their achievement.

This workshop may be taken on its own, although participants will receive the strongest beginner foundation by also attending Techquity Digital Literacy: Laptop Confidence – Getting Started on August 27.
