Join our exceptional woodturning instructors to experience a hands-on, foundational introduction to the handicraft of woodturning! Students will learn about the basic equipment and specific tools and techniques used in woodturning, while turning their first samples. With a focus on lathe safety, supply and tool selection, and cutting techniques, instructors will walk you through the steps to rough turn square stock and cut grooves, beads, and coves to create spindle-turned projects.

Bring an impact-resistant face shield (shared classroom shields are also available for use), and closed-toe shoes.

YOUTH PARTICIPANTS For students ages 14-17 participating in non-youth classes, parents/guardians must complete this waiver and send to Artisan.Center@nwtc.edu before the first day of class. The form may also be completed at the Artisan and Business Center if registering in person.
