Try your hand at woodturning in this introductory spindle turning class! Being open to all skill levels with no experience required, students will begin their learning with safety, equipment and tool introduction, and the technical basics of woodturning. Our exceptional instructors will provide demonstration and assistance as you work toward creating your very own cocktail muddler to take home at the end of class! If you enjoy this experience, you’ll love our hands-on Woodturning Fundamentals class that takes a much deeper look at the handicraft and joy of woodturning. Bring your ideas and creativity, an impact-resistant face shield (shared classroom shields are also available for use), and closed-toe shoes.
Open to all skill levels.

You’ll love this class if you want to learn techniques for:

  • Safe use of a wood lathe
  • Cutting and proper tool presentation when turning
  • Spindle turning
  • Understanding correct technique

In this class you’ll have the opportunity to use the following equipment and materials:

  • Pre-selected wood
  • Cutting tools such as parting tool, spindle roughing gouge, spindle gouge
  • Lathe
