Morning Session: E-Cigarettes, Vaping, JUULING - E-Cigarettes and Vaping have become hot topics in the news with thousands sick and over 50 deaths due to a new vaping related lung disease. Motivating our patients to quit/avoid vaping continues to be a challenge. Thankfully new studies shed light on the many risks of using vaping products. We will uncover the truth about the chemicals produced during vaping and discuss the cancer-causing risks from breathing these vapors.

Afternoon Session: The Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) - HPV has changed the way we look at cancer risk and detection and has made patient education a bit more complicated. Many health professionals report never discussing HPV with patients, and those who do often feel uncomfortable with the topic. However, today HPV is now the leading cause of oropharyngeal cancer, making it crucial to discuss with our patients. We will explore the resources necessary for effective HPV communication.

Attendees will be able to:

1. Identify the risk factors associated with HPV-related oropharyngeal cancer.
2. Discover the tools necessary for HPV patient education.
3. Recognize the vaping chemicals and vapors and the cancer risks associated.
4. Understand the laws and regulations on e-cigarettes and discover the latest clinical research to share.
5. Design a patient education plan that includes e-cigarettes, vaping, JUULing, and hookahs.
