4-Hour Basic Ballistic Shield

The ballistic shield will allow officers to update their current skills and abilities utilizing the ballistic shield in conjunction with their handgun and rifle. Officers will learn basic ballistic shield nomenclature, storage, deployment considerations, and use during high risk situations and tactical police operations/situations. Live fire exercises will be incorporated during the use of the ballistic shield.

***Officers are asked to bring 60 rounds of handgun ammunition, their duty belt and ballistic vest.

Day 1 – April 28, 2026

• Tactical Handgun & DOJ Qualification (8:00am - 12:00pm)
• 4-Hour Ballistic Shield (1:00pm - 5:00pm)

Day 2 – Apr 29, 2026

• Room Clearing & Team Tactics (8:00am - 12:00pm)
• Active Shooter Response Update (1:00pm - 5:00pm)

Day 3 – April 30, 2026

• EVOC Bi-Annual Update (8:00am - 12:00pm)              
• Fighting In & Around Vehicles: Advanced Vehicle Contacts (1:00pm - 5:00pm)

If you would like your agency to be invoiced after the training is complete, email rob.hock@nwtc.edu with each attendee's name, email address and date of birth and we will get them registered for the class.
