The Blue Card Command Certification Program teaches Incident Commanders and other fire officers how to standardize incident operations.

The first phase of training is a 50-hour online training course through Blue Card. This MUST be completed prior to taking this course.

This is the second phase of training – a 3 day hands on evaluation and certification course.

Upon completion of the online and hands on portion, students become a fully certified Local - Type 4 and 5 Incident Commander. This evaluation consists of running 15-20 fire simulations a day with brief incident reviews conducted between each simulation. This session tests their ability to perform the responsibilities of an:
* Initial On-Scene Officer
* Incident Commander
* Incident Management Team (IMT) Member
* Division/Group Supervisor
* Safety Officer
* Continue, Transfer & Terminate Command
