This 3-day training is specifically designed for:

  • Officers recently assigned to an investigator position.
  • Patrol officers eager to refine and expand their investigative skills.
  • Seasoned investigators looking for a refresher and fresh perspectives.

Led by nationally recognized instructors with real-world investigative expertise, this course offers a comprehensive curriculum covering a variety of criminal investigation topics:

Core Topics: Intro into Detectives:

  • Transitioning from patrol to investigations.
  • Managing cases efficiently.

How to handle Sensitive Crimes:

  • Sex crimes
  • Violent offender
  • Frauds
  • Property Crimes

Confidential Informants (CI):

  • Developing and managing CI's effectively.
  • Understanding regulations and best practices.

OD Death Investigations:

  • On-scene assessment strategies.
  • Utilizing resources and managing cases from start to finish.

Sensitive Crimes:

  • Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC).
  • Handling sexual assault and child abuse cases.

Search Warrants and Subpoenas:

  • Preparation and addressing preservation challenges.
  • Crafting detailed and actionable warrants and subpoenas.

Cell Phones and Social Media:

  • Techniques for gathering and preserving electronic evidence.

Investigator Resources:

  • Leveraging statewide networks, Fusion Centers, and digital tools.
