This course provides the opportunity for the learner to develop the knowledge and skills needed to access the hazards and manage various farm rescue incidents. This course is made up of two portions.

The classroom portion will cover the following:

  • Overview & farm pre-plans
  • Rescuer preparation and personal safety
  • Extrication
  • Incident Command System review

Following the classroom portion, there will be a practical portion that will cover the following:

  • Tractor types and rollover types
  • Stabilization during rescue
  • Tractor injuries
  • Tractor overturn rescue
  • PTO overview and rescue
  • Farm machinery overview and rescue

This will also include Hands On Training (HOT) with overturned machinery. Full turnout gear is required to participate.

PREREQUISITES: Completion of Wisconsin Entry Level Firefighter or equivalent with signed letter from the department fire chief.

STUDENT EQUIPMENT: A full set of NFPA compliant turnout gear and note taking materials (Optional).
