This class is focused on fighting to-for-over the gun. It is a two day course covering weapon retention and concepts of disarming armed violent suspects.
- Day 1: We will focus on weapon retention in and out of the holster both standing and on the ground. We’ll work on two techniques to keep our guns in their holster from multiple angles standing and on the ground. We also work on out of holster retention.
- Day 2: We will review our weapon retention skills from Day 1 and then transition to our concepts of disarming armed violent suspects.
We will also add in team tactics and off body carry options to portions of the class.
Through a generous donation from GMS Heating & Cooling, we will provide each student a duty belt to use during the training (there is a limited number of each belt size), a Safariland, Blackhawk or Alien Gear holster, a Glock 17 training gun and radio pouch (other pouches will also be available.) If you have your own dedicated training belt, holster, and blue gun feel free to use that.
If you would like your agency to be invoiced after the training is complete, email rob.hock@nwtc.edu with each attendee's name, email address and date of birth and we will get them registered for the class.
