This one-day course is designed for those interested in enhancing their effectiveness as supervisors and leaders within their agencies/organizations. The course, part of the leadership development series offered by CIC, covers how generations, attitudes, and personalities impact employee performance and how supervisors can positively impact employee performance. Highlights include discussions on establishing expectations as a precursor to performance evaluation. Participants will develop a leadership self-improvement plan, based on methods discussed during the course. After training, participants will be able to:
- Develop insight into supervisory influence
- Describe how generations, attitudes, and personalities impact employee performance
- Apply motivational skills that will positively impact and influence others
- Discuss the importance of good communication skills for effective supervision
- Incorporate strategies to establish expectations and evaluate performance
- Describe and create a self-improvement plan for working with others, using techniques presented during the training
