Introduction to Private Process Serving – 8 HRS / 4 weeks
In this course, learners will understand the legal requirements for process service as a private investigator. Learners will evaluate state statutes and requirements, Civil Process Manual, information sheet checklist, Open-Source Intelligence (ONIST) for pictures, Consolidated Court Automation Programs (CCAP), internet search location of property, approach considerations and when to use the USPS Boxholder form. Learners will explore and discuss what constitutes a legal serve and what is not a legal serve according to court standards and what considerations need to be evaluated when serving out of state papers.
Learning Objectives:
- Explore the State Statutes and requirements for Civil Process.
- Understand the Civil Process Manual for the State of Wisconsin.
- Examine the information sheet checklist for the service of process.
- Apply Open-Sources and other information sources to locate potential target for process.
- Explore Wisconsin Circuit Court Access (Consolidated Court Automation Program - CCAP).
- Apply Open-Sources and other information sources to search the locate and layout of a property.
- Understand the Approach Considerations for your safety.
- Understand the value of Body Cameras
- Discuss what constitutes a legal serve in the State of Wisconsin.
