Fundamental concepts of how microprocessor based relays provide protection of substation equipment such as transformers and circuit breakers, substation buss and distribution feeders will be discussed. The concept of differential protection zones in regard to transformer and buss protection is introduced. The application and connection of potential transformer and current transformers to SEL 351 relays will form the hands on portion of the class. 8 Hours
