Description: NWTC’s Leadership Academy is designed to develop the leadership skills of the informal leader in every organization. This program is an excellent development opportunity for front line employees and potential team leaders. Foundational topics for this course include planning, controlling, delegating, organizing, human motivation, decision-making, conflict resolution, and managing a diverse workforce. Participants also learn application of these foundational lessons including the benefits and challenges of group work, necessary roles in a team, stages of team development, meeting facilitation, different approaches to problem solving, consensus, data acquisition, analysis, developing alternative solutions, implementation, and evaluation. (Note: Access to high speed internet and Blackboard Learning Management System are required. This event has two locations that all registrants must attend - MN115 and VIRTUAL/Online. Class dates for MN115 are 3/30, 4/13, and 4/27 (10:00am to 2:00pm). Class dates for virtual/online are scheduled 4/6, 4/20, and 5/4, but registrants can participate asynchronously online any time during those weeks.)
