The PADI Open Water Scuba course certifies a person to be an open water scuba diver. This is one of the prerequisites for becoming a Public Safety Diver. This class consists of classroom learning, pool skills and open water dives. Public Safety Dive team members can choose to complete the training with dry suits and full-face masks.

Requirements

  • Students will need to provide all individual dive gear (mask, fins, snorkel, buoyancy compensator, dry suit or wetsuit, three scuba tanks and dive weights)
  • Students must have a Medical Statement form on file (dated within the last 12 months).
