Participants are provided with general awareness about recognizing and preventing hazards commonly found in the workplace. Participants will explore OSHA standards that govern general industry, how to read and use the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), and compliance programs and procedures required in the workplace. Upon successful completion of the course, attendees will receive an OSHA 10-hour card and NWTC certificate.
The mandatory topics reviewed will be:
- Introduction to OSHA
- Walking working surfaces
- Exit routes, Emergency Action Plan
- Electrical Safety
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Hazard Communications
Other topics discussed but not limited to are hazardous materials, materials handling, machine guarding, introduction to industrial hygiene, blood borne pathogens, ergonomics, safety, and health programs and fall protection.
This course has been approved by the DSPS as 1 Continuing Education Hour for the following credentials:
Commercial Electrical Inspector Certification, Commercial Plumbing Inspector Certification , Journeyman Plumber License, Journeyman Plumber-Restricted Appliance License, Journeyman Plumber-Restricted Service License, Master Electrician License, Master Plumber License, Master Plumber-Restricted Appliance License, Master Plumber-Restricted Service License, POWTS Inspector Certification, POWTS MAINT AINER Registration, UDC-Electrical Inspector Certification, & UDC-Plumbing Inspector Certification.
