This is a two-part course that includes a four-hour online prerequisite portion and a two-hour virtual classroom portion.
- The online prerequisite portion is self-paced and asynchronous, so you can work on it at your own convenience.
- The required prerequisite portion will be available March 3, 2025.
- Keep in mind that while you can start the course at any time, the prerequisite portion must be completed by the virtual classroom date on Thursday, March 27, 2025.
This training is recommended for anyone working in the dental occupations, especially newly hired employees. Participants in this course will receive information that reviews and expands their current knowledge of infection control in the dental healthcare setting. The focus is to provide the tools and knowledge necessary for a safe dental health care environment for dental healthcare workers and patients. This training includes an overview of the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens and Chemical Hazard Control Standards. In addition, guidelines are provided for developing an infection control program. This course meets the Wisconsin Dental Examining Board Continuing Education Requirement, Chapter DE 13. NWTC Dental Programs are accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation.
