Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Renewal reinforces the essential knowledge and skills needed to manage pediatric respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiac arrest. Designed for currently certified providers, the course emphasizes high quality CPR, prompt assessment, effective team dynamics, and application of current AHA PALS guidelines through focused review and hands on practice.
Objectives of the PALS Renewal course include:
• Demonstrating proficiency in high quality CPR and pediatric emergency interventions
• Rapidly recognizing and appropriately managing pediatric respiratory distress, respiratory failure, and cardiac arrest
• Identifying and treating cardiac rhythms and hemodynamically significant arrhythmia
• Applying current PALS algorithms, pharmacology, and protocols
• Strengthening effective communication and leadership skills during pediatric resuscitation
Pre-course Requirement: Review, understand, and complete the ECG and Pharmacology pre-course assessment tests online at ACLS Precourse Self-Assessment
Required AHA books must be obtained before class and brought to class; books are available for advance purchase through the NWTC Bookstore.
