This course will define Interviewing, clarify the difference between interview vs. interrogation, human behavior, initial client interview, witness interviews, and intro to advanced interviewing. Learners will also explore verbal and non-verbal communication to help guide interviews, evaluate human behavior for possible areas of deception, professional written report development and types of people you will encounter throughout the investigative process.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the difference between interviewing and interrogation.
- Recognize the types of persons you will encounter.
- Recognize human behavior and signs of deception.
- Evaluate verbal and non-verbal communication.
- Compose P.I. report writing development.
- Apply O.I.R. in a scenario.
- Understand the initial client interview for the in-take of a case.
- Compose a witness interview report from field notes.
