This class examines past situations, in both training and call-outs, where public safety divers have died in the line of duty. We review specifics, identify factors leading to the death, and determine ways to mitigate these factors to make situations safer for our divers. We look for dangerous trends and compare them to recognized standards to understand what we should be including in our yearly training. Many key points will be equipment, training practices, diver health and risk-benefit analyses.

This class is for any member of a public safety dive team or team administrator. It will specifically benefit team leaders and anyone responsible for team training.
