Reclosers

Students will have the opportunity to learn the operating principles of Cooper Power Systems type W & VWE three phase oil circuit reclosers and the three phase, independent pole operation, Viper ST from G&W Electric. The VWE and Viper reclosers will be paired with Eaton Form 6 and SEL 651R recloser controls. Students will gain and understanding of the function and operation of front panel controls and LED indicators of both models of controls. Fault simulation is used to study recloser response to various levels of fault current and recloser operating modes.
