Tactical Handgun Refresher and DOJ Qualification

The Handgun Refresher will allow officers to update their current skills and abilities through drills and discussions. Our focus will be to compliment the officer’s current skill sets and allow them to assess and evaluate their current abilities through demonstrations and hands-on training exercises. Our focus will be on grip, posture, alignment, stance, steps of the draw, steps after combat shooting, phase 1 & 2 malfunctions, movement, out-of-battery reloads, in-battery reloads, use of cover, proper recovery, team tactics, and combat situations The WI DOJ Handgun Qualification will also be completed for officers at the end of this training.

** Students are required to bring their own ammunition and duty gear.**

This training is part of the In-Service Track for Officers which provides a reduced rate of $85.00 when you register for the training titled Complete In-Service Track for Officers Series in 3 days for $275

Day 1 – April 28, 2026

• Tactical Handgun & DOJ Qualification (8:00am - 12:00pm)
• 4-Hour Ballistic Shield (1:00pm - 5:00pm)

Day 2 – Apr 29, 2026

• Room Clearing & Team Tactics (8:00am - 12:00pm)
• Active Shooter Response Update (1:00pm - 5:00pm)

Day 3 – April 30, 2026

• EVOC Bi-Annual Update (8:00am - 12:00pm)
• Fighting In & Around Vehicles: Advanced Vehicle Contacts (1:00pm - 5:00pm)

If you would like your agency to be invoiced after the training is complete, email rob.hock@nwtc.edu with each attendee's name, email address and date of birth and we will get them registered for the class.
