Authenticity has become the gold standard for leadership today. "Just be yourself." It's popular leadership advice these days, with more and more organizations encouraging people to "be authentic" and bring their whole selves to work. Sometimes being yourself at the wrong time or in the wrong way, can backfire. So what does effective authenticity look like, and how can we learn to strike the right balance?
