This one-day training course is part of the CIC leadership development series. The purpose is to support those new to supervision and those planning to move into supervisory positions. The goal is to provide information and resources to define and apply leadership skills to supervise others. The course explores ways to define interpersonal relationships, develop and maintain positive self-confidence, and incorporate leadership and positive supervisory techniques into their positions. After training, participants will be able to:

  1. Classify the characteristics of a good supervisor
  2. Distinguish between personal and professional relationships
  3. Describe ways to develop and maintain positive self-confidence
  4. Integrate elements of leadership into personal approaches to supervising others
  5. Identify and apply problem-solving strategies through scenarios and case studies
  6. Develop a self-improvement plan
