Learn about bee biology and native pollinators. Inspect a beehive. Extract honey from the comb. Find out how to populate a beehive and how to care for bees throughout the year. Find out the costs of keeping bees or adding a teaching hive to your curriculum. Lunch is included.

Courses in 2022 are blended. This means we meet partially online LIVE, partially asynchronously online, and LIVE in-person for some hands on skills building. Course materials, learning plans, and curriculum are available through the NWTC Blackboard platform. All virtual sessions will be recorded for viewing anytime.

  • June date: Meet LIVE online for instruction on how to access the course content and complete pre-work online (2 hours)
  • June-August: Watch recorded lectures
  • August date: Arrive in-person at designated location. Lunch is included in the class cost.
